Baptism

"Our Lord serves us today through His holy Word and Sacraments. Through these means, He comes among us to deliver His forgivenss and salvation, freeing us from our sins and strengthening us for service to one another and to the world. At Holy Baptism, He puts His name upon us, pours His Holy Spirit into our hearts, and rescues us from sin, death, and the devil." (Lutheran Service Book, viii, © 2006 Concordia Publishing House 3558 S. Jefferson Ave., St. Louis, MO 63118-3968 1-800-325-3040 www.cph.org)

After His resurrection and prior to His ascension into heaven, Jesus Christ gave this command: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)

Following this command of Christ, we are here to serve you and your family with the gifts God gives us in Baptism. Because of the significance of Baptism in the life of the Church, baptisms are included as part of our worship experience. As soon as you know when you would like your child baptised, please contact our church office at 630-830-4833.

Adults desiring Baptism who have not been baptised are typically baptised after a period of instruction in the Christian faith. Please contact one of the church staff to make these arrangements.
