Going Bananas for the Lord!
Going Bananas for the Lord!
We are looking forward to your camper joining us in the adventure and excitement of summer camp 2013, when we will be “Going Bananas for the Lord”. The children will learn about love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control through our devotions.
Our summer’s excursions will take us to numerous places, including field trips to many popular museums and attractions in the Chicago land area. Please see the calendar for specific trips and dates (please note that the calendar is subject to change depending on availability of venues). Along with weekly trips to the water park, your camper will also enjoy countless games and activities at Our Savior. Campers will have daily devotional experiences studying God’s Word, sing praises to God, and lead a Sunday worship service at Our Savior in August. We look forward to seeing you and your camper this summer!
This summer, campers will be placed in three different groups in order to provide your child with the best care and most appropriate summer camp programs and devotions. We have new group names to match our theme for the summer! Introducing…
Kiwis (K – 2nd)
The Kiwis are our camp’s youngest participants. They will attend all of our exciting field trips, with a few modifications. Due to height restrictions, the Kiwis will explore the wonders of nature instead of canoeing on our Blackwell Forest Preserve excursion. They will be allowed to attend our Laser Tag and Rock Climbing field trips but can choose to not participate if they wish. Kiwis also have the exclusive use of our courtyard playground for games, morning activities, and devotions. Our youngest campers are also required to stay in the shallow end of the pool on swim field trips unless they pass a swim test.
Rock Melons (3rd-5th)
The Rock Melons will have the opportunity to experience all the excitement of the outdoors and thrilling activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, and laser tag. The 5th graders will also have the special privilege of participating in the annual overnight camping retreat.
Dragon Fruits (6th – 8th)
The Dragon Fruits are our oldest campers and will have several distinct and exciting experiences at camp. Along with the 5th graders, they will have the opportunity to participate in the overnight camping retreat.
